IBM Expands Bangalore Innovation Center

IBM has expanded its Innovation Center in Bangalore, India for start-up companies, software developers, independent software vendors, IT professionals, and academics.

The center will provide technology, education and consulting support, and access to IBM sales and marketing staff. IBM said it will also help companies develop new software and hardware applications and services, and test their products for compatibility and scalability before taking them to the market.

IBM has 38 innovation centers around the world and has invested more than $250m in the initiative.

Pradeep Nair, director of software group at IBM India said: “Our approach is to enable and engage the IT community in India in every possible manner to help them productize assets and build relevant open-standards based industry solutions for our clients. This new center will ensure that the stakeholders in the ecosystem benefit from our sales, marketing, and technical expertise to expand and grow into new, global markets.”
