Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software Forms Alliance With Sun Microsystems

Posted on: Wednesday, 11 June 2008, 09:00 CDT

Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software has entered into an alliance with Sun Microsystems to provide insurance companies with an integrated management solution for the handling of non-life and life insurance claims.

Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software is a member of the Open Claims Alliance (OCA), which is comprised of The Claims Company, business process consultants, and four technology partners: Sun, Group 1 Software, edge IPK and Haley Limited.

The solution uses Sun's Java CAPS integration software and can be run on any IT infrastructure. It is delivered in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model that fully integrates composite applications and provides a platform for expansion.

Brian Turner, head of insurance for America's and Europe at Sun Microsystems, said: "The modular approach of this application and transactional pricing options available through our SaaS program, Solaris On Demand, create a real difference in the way insurers can address this key core system replacement."
