PCCW, China Telecom jointly offer bandwidth services
HONG KONG, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong fixed-line operator PCCW and China Telecom Group Guangdong Corporation announced Sunday they will offer a premier business data-carrying service between Hong Kong and some major cities in Guangdong.
The 100 percent service level commitment (SLC) cooperation, covering international private leased circuits, asynchronous transfer mode and frame relay data services, seeks to provide all- round services for the customers, the companies said.
A typical application of the 100 percent SLC offer would be integrated voice and data carried by an international private leased circuit linking a company's Hong Kong business with its operations in the mainland.
The first batch of cities receiving the service are Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen. The service will cover local access in Hong Kong, transborder transmission, access to the mainland telecoms grid and local access in Guangdong.
PCCW and China Telecom, the mainland's largest telecoms operator, recently also announced a one-stop-shop agreement providing Hong Kong business customers with one point of contact at PCCW for all their data-carrying issues between Hong Kong and multiple destinations in as many mainland provinces as required.
PCCW President of Global Business Tommy Chung said the company views the launch of 100 percent SLC in Guangdong's major cities as "an exciting business development," and the company will guarantee the quality of service for the customers.
