Netsmart's Kevin Scalia Named Chair of the Software and Technology Vendors Association

GREAT RIVER, N.Y., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Netsmart Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-wide software and services for health and human services organizations, today announced that Kevin Scalia, Netsmart executive vice president, Corporate Development, has been chosen as chair of the Software and Technology Vendors Association (SATVA), effective July 1, 2008. The selection was made on April 30 at the SATVA semi-annual membership meeting the day before the 38th Annual Conference of the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare in Boston, Mass.
SATVA is a trade organization for providers of behavioral health and human services software and information technology. SATVA and its member organizations facilitate the delivery of more efficient and effective consumer services through use of information technology, and help formulate and support quality industry standards.

Scalia had previously served as a member of the SATVA board of directors. At Netsmart, he has executive management responsibility for marketing, business development, strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. He also manages strategic relationships and new business opportunities, and is responsible for developing alliances with key industry associations. Prior to his current position, Scalia served as Netsmart's vice president of Operations.
Before joining Netsmart, Scalia served as president and chief operating officer of a Long Island, N.Y. -- based professional services firm that provided enterprise applications to mid-size and Fortune 500 companies, and as chairman and chief executive officer for a manufacturer of supercomputers, security equipment and medical imaging equipment. Scalia was also an advisor to the President George H.W. Bush, representing small business on issues related to defense transformation.
Scalia is a founding member of the Long Island Software and Technology Network and a member of the College of Engineering Advisory Board, State University of New York at Stony Brook.
