Astute Networks, a provider of bladed storage solutions, has launched its high-performance bladed storage solution for the ATCA market, the Astute Networks Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade.
In support of this announcement, Sun Microsystems and Astute Networks will demonstrate a high performance, highly scalable ATCA platform at the NXTcomm 2008 show in Las Vegas.
The demonstration is based on Sun's MySQL Cluster database, an open source database, and will be implemented utilizing Sun's Netra CT900 ATCA bladed server chassis, the Astute Networks' Caspian R1100 Edge Storage Blade, and the Sun Netra CP3260 UltraSPARC T2 blade server.
The solution provides the communication and media industries with a highly scalable, highly available COTS platform that increases processing capacity, helps reduce costs through consolidation, and provides a platform for future expansion.
