Buxton to Use Google Maps in Online Site

June 13, 2008

Buxton, a provider of customer analytics for the retail industry, has announced that it has licensed with Google to use Google Maps as the mapping program to drive its online site and customer management system, SCOUT.

The web-based tool provides clients with access to psychographic and demographic data and mapping. Buxton has said that the greatest benefit of Google Maps within SCOUT is the ability to view aerial maps for any site in the US.

Tom Buxton, president and CEO of Buxton, said: “Retailers are always interested in an aerial view of a particular site, and how their store will fit within the given space.”

According to Buxton, two additional benefits that Google Maps provides are constant updates to its data and enhancement of the mapping speed within SCOUT.
