Tuffley Policeman Organises School Reunion

June 15, 2008

By Lee Cain

An Internet savvy policeman has launched a website to arrange a reunion of his former school friends.

Christian Butler, 32, has been inundated with e-mails since he set up a facebook site dedicated to former pupils of Chosen Hill School.

The Tuffley resident started the site, which is for people who joined the school in 1986, last year to find out what his classmates were doing now.

“I’m really surprised how well it has taken off,” said Christian.

“I was on Friends Reunited but not many people seemed to be registered for it, so I transferred to Facebook and since then the interest has really grown.”

With the internet group now totalling over 50 members, Christian decided the time was right to get everyone together for a reunion in the summer.

“Once people joined the group they soon started reminiscing about old times, and one or two even took the opportunity to meet up.

“It was then suggested we hold a reunion, which I thought was a great idea so I’ve been working hard to get everything sorted out.”

Christian added: “It’s funny because I only really appreciated just how good a time I had at school after I left.

“It will be great to see everyone again after all these years, and finding out what everyone is up to.”

The reunion will be held on Friday, August 1 at the Chosen Hill Rugby Club, Brookfield Road, Cheltenham.

It starts at 7.30pm until late and the tickets cost pounds10 per person. All proceeds left over from the night will be donated to the school.
