Alfresco Partners With Adobe to Deliver Content Services for Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite
Alfresco Software today announced a new technology partnership with Adobe Systems Incorporated to provide additional content services capabilities to Adobe(R) LiveCycle(TM) Enterprise Suite (ES). Under the terms of the agreement, Adobe will embed the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software into Adobe LiveCycle ES. The relationship represents a shared vision for a new class of applications that utilize flexible, open source and Web 2.0 standards that deliver rich and engaging enterprise experiences.
Adobe LiveCycle ES is an integrated family of software for automating processes that help businesses and governments more effectively engage with customers, citizens, partners, and suppliers. Alfresco uses the innovation of open source to provide a highly scalable enterprise-class content management system. Through the addition of Alfresco's content management technologies to Adobe LiveCycle ES, customers can rapidly develop and deploy content-rich engagement applications that blend data capture, information assurance, document output, process management and content services.
"Alfresco's open source business model and ability to support Adobe(R) Flex(TM) and Web 2.0 technologies will allow our customers to take full advantage of advanced capabilities to deliver content-rich engagement applications even faster," said Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president of Business Productivity Business Unit at Adobe. "By bringing together our technologies, now our customers can quickly create a business process or application with the LiveCycle technology platform that is deeply integrated with enterprise content."
The Alfresco ECM platform delivers people-centric content management and collaboration tools enabling users to mashup and present internal and external content, and bring social computing capabilities into the workplace, while retaining choice over the selection of best of breed open source tools and ensuring enterprise-level security and control.
"A growing amount of content is now being created and shared using Web 2.0 tools," said John Powell, CEO, Alfresco Software. "We have developed an enterprise content management system that is entirely built using an open architecture which allows companies to easily take advantage of this new information paradigm. Adobe's decision to embed Alfresco in the Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite validates not only Alfresco's momentum but also the acceptance of open source throughout the industry. Adobe and Alfresco are revolutionizing the way in which content can be created, managed and deployed."
