ASG Creates New Technology to Advance Interoperability and Expand Individual Performance Management Capabilities
Today ASG Software Solutions unveiled a synergistic technology that expands the performance management capabilities of both Microsoft’s and ASG’s solution offerings.
The new technology, a direct application programming interface (API) co-developed by ASG and Microsoft, connects Microsoft System Center Operations Manager to ASG’s Business Service Platform(TM) (BSP(TM)). The result is the seamless flow of Microsoft server performance information into ASG’s enterprise Business Service Management (BSM) solution.
The new adapter expands ASG’s BSP’s current performance coverage of mainframe and virtualized IT components, allowing BSP clients to monitor, report and manage the status of both distributed and mainframe environments holistically.
In turn, ASG’s BSP empowers Operations Manager clients to improve service levels with keener insight into the typical sprawl of dispersed technologies in modern enterprises. Through ASG’s BSP, Operations Manager users gain clear visibility into their distributed infrastructure, including the complex relationships between and among IT components in different locations. This comprehensive, real-time status view, graphically depicted in ASG’s BSP dashboards, enables Operations Manager users to proactively manage distributed operational performance and minimize business disruptions.
The pivotal technology that drives this acute visibility is ASG’s MetaCMDB(TM), the federated meta configuration management database (CMDB) and differentiating core of ASG’s BSP. Unlike other CMDBs, ASG’s MetaCMDB is able to federate to any trusted data source to leverage existing systems management and Configuration Item data stores.
