BLADE Network Technologies' Tim Chao Presents on 10 Gigabit Ethernet for Converged FCoE Data and Storage Networks
Posted on: Tuesday, 17 June 2008, 09:00 CDT
BLADE Network Technologies' Tim Chao will join industry technology leaders at the inaugural Blade.org Technology Symposium 2008 with a presentation on "10 Gigabit Ethernet for FCoE Storage Networks." The Blade.org Technology Symposium takes place June 19, 2008, in New York.
The Blade.org Technology Symposium will feature the world's top IT end-user and vendor companies as they explore the mega trends -- converged networks, advanced energy efficiency and hyper consolidation -- that will shape computing in 2010 and beyond. At the Symposium, visionary end-user technologists from Morgan Stanley, The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, GameVee.com and Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors will join with leading suppliers of blade-based data center technologies to define the data center of the future. Presenters from APC, BLADE Network Technologies, Brocade, Devon IT, Emulex, IBM, Intel, NetApp, NetXen, QLogic, VirtenSys and VMware will explore how virtualization, dynamic IT, power and cooling, security, networking, storage, and microprocessors and memory should influence IT decisions in the coming years.
BLADE's Session: "10 Gigabit Ethernet for FCoE Storage Networks"
As per-port prices drop, 10 Gigabit Ethernet will increasingly be deployed to overcome data center bottlenecks for bandwidth-intensive applications such as high-performance computing, business continuity, virtualization, video on demand, storage, video surveillance and voice over IP. This session will explore the outlook for 10G Ethernet in the next-generation data center, providing guidelines for how to implement 10G Ethernet switching in state-of-the-art blade server systems and to create advanced network topologies that employ 10G Ethernet networking directly to and from each blade in the server. It also will discuss server I/O fabric convergence around 10G Ethernet for data, storage (IP SAN and FCoE) and clustering. For more information, please see BLADE's whitepaper "Fabric convergence with loss-less Ethernet and Fibre Channel over Ethernet" (FCoE). http:// www.bladenetwork.net/pages/products_white_papers.html#Storage
