Picnik.Com Named One of TIME Magazine's 50 Best Web Sites of 2008 for Making Photo-Editing Possible for 'Mere Mortals'

Picnik.com (www.picnik.com), the leading online photo-editing application, today was named one of the 50 Best Web sites of 2008 by TIME magazine.
In her review of Picnik, Anita Hamilton of TIME praised Picnik for an "elegant simplicity" that is lacking in other online photo editing sites and tools. Until Picnik, wrote Hamilton, photo editing has been "too complicated for mere mortals. Good thing you don't need any special skills to use the free photo-editing tools at Picnik."
According to TIME, the selected sites are the best examples of what's new and exciting about the Web in 2008. The magazine honors sites with exceptional style and smarts that offer new and improved ways to access and share content, generate our own and otherwise enrich the online (and off-line) experience.
"We are stoked to be among a great list of Web innovators in this year's TIME's Best 50 Web sites of 2008," said Jonathan Sposato, chief executive officer of Picnik.com. "The Picnik team set out to revolutionize the photo editing world by making it fun and easy for anyone with a digital camera to become a photo editing rockstar; we're all thrilled that TIME has chosen to recognize Picnik in this way."
This is the second national award that Picnik has picked up in the past week. Last week, Picnik received an American Business Award, or "Stevie," for "Best Overall Web site." The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business. The global sponsor of the American Business Awards is Dow-Jones, publisher of the Wall Street Journal, and the winners were selected from more than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes.
