Qumu, Inc., the leader in Enterprise Video Communications, today announced that the company has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of Scott Safe as Vice President of Product Strategy and Marketing. Safe's appointment delivers on the company's commitment to build and maintain a strong and dynamic management team across its unique portfolio of enterprise and department video communication applications that continue to deliver an increasingly strategic role in the way enterprises communicate internally and externally.
Safe was selected by the board of directors and CEO, Ray Hood, based on his proven ability to build brand awareness, lead product development and create channel partner programs. His leadership will be instrumental in continuing the exponential company growth and expansion into new markets that require scalable, secure and proven enterprise video communications solutions.
As Qumu's Vice President of Product Strategy and Marketing, Safe will work closely with customers and partners to determine product and go-to-market strategies, and provide program oversight across the various marketing functions, including corporate branding, lead generation, product management, search engine optimization, marketing communications and public relations. Safe replaces acting Vice President of Marketing, Bob Schoettle, who served as a consultant to Qumu since late 2007.
Before joining Qumu, Safe spent four years as Vice President of Marketing at Network Physics, Inc., a network and application traffic monitoring appliance vendor acquired by OPNET Technologies, Inc. Previously, Safe held senior marketing positions at Adomo, Steeleye Technology (acquired by SIOS Technologies), Manage.com and Hewlett-Packard.
"Scott is a proven leader with a strong track record," said Ray Hood, president and CEO of Qumu. "His expertise and unique perspective on the market will enable Qumu to strengthen and expand our leadership position in enterprise digital media communications."
Safe's appointment comes at a pivotal time, as the use of digital media communication in today's dispersed work environment is at an all-time high. Qumu's enterprise digital media communications solution provides central management for all key video infrastructure components, including videoconferencing, encoders and other creation devices, digital signage distribution, network storage, and internal and external Content Distribution Networks. Qumu enables enterprises to gain control of vital video assets by easily connecting video components with their network infrastructures for cost effective digital media control.
"Simplicity, flexibility and business value are the attributes enterprise customers look for when considering digital media communications solutions," said Scott Safe. "This is especially true when evaluating solutions that need to work with existing and new IT infrastructure elements. Qumu is uniquely qualified to provide simple solutions to complex problems."
