June 18, 2008

UK-based Alfresco Software has partnered with Adobe Systems to provide additional content services capabilities to Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite (ES).

It said Adobe will embed the Alfresco Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software into Adobe LiveCycle ES, which will enable customers to rapidly develop and deploy content-rich engagement applications combining data capture, information assurance, document output, process management and content services.

Adobe LiveCycle ES platform delivers content management and collaboration tools allowing users to mix and present internal and external content, and bring social computing capabilities into the workplace while ensuring enterprise-level security and control.

Rob Tarkoff, senior vice president of business productivity business unit at Adobe said: “Alfresco’s open source business model and ability to support Adobe Flex and Web 2.0 technologies will allow our customers to use advanced capabilities to deliver content-rich engagement applications even faster.”

The company has also announced an upgrade to its ECM platform, Adobe LiveCycle ES Update 1, with capabilities to convert two- and three-dimensional CAD data to PDF format.
