Tut Systems Selects Texas Instruments to Power Its Latest Platform for Video Processing and Delivery

LAS VEGAS, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Emphasizing its growing involvement in the explosive digital TV market, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) today announced that its latest high-performance digital signal processor (DSP)-based solution has been selected by Tut Systems, Inc. , an industry leader in delivering video and data services over broadband networks, for advanced video processing solutions. Demonstrating the ability to deliver high- quality digital TV over any broadband access network, the expanding family of Astria(R) products from Tut Systems can be seen at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2005 conference in Las Vegas, April 18 - 21, 2005, at the Tut Systems booth (SU9956).

Tut's Astria Content Processor (CP) product line includes carrier-class platforms designed by the same team that helped define the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards. Available in a range of form factors (from one-rack to 12-rack units), the high-performance Astria CP system leverages the latest digital media processing technology from Texas Instruments (TI), including TI's TMS320DM642 and TMS320C6415 digital signal processing (DSP)-based solutions. Astria CP applications include low bit rate MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC video processing for digital TV head-end systems, broadcast transport, military surveillance, and distance learning networks.
