HP Middle East sponsors UAE finalists at Electronics Sports World Cup in California

HP Middle East today announced its sponsorship of the UAE winners of the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) which took place at CES HomeTech in Dubai last month, to send them to the tournaments global final in San Jose, California in August.

Through its retail partner, i2, HP provided ESWC's Dubai competition with top of the line gaming desktop PCs and 22 inch monitors for the tournament which took place for the first time in the United Arab Emirates.

Anil Kumar, Category Manger for Consumer and Commercial Products, PSG, HP Middle East commented: "Hosting the ESWC in the UAE was a great chance for the region's large gaming community to pit their skills against the Gulf's top players, as well as giving them the opportunity to play with the world's finest gaming equipment."

Competing at CES HomeTech, the eight winners will be flying to the US courtesy of HP to compete in the final leg of the major competition.

"HP is proud to give the winners the opportunity to represent the UAE in the international competition. Gamers have been loyal consumers of HP products and this is just one of the ways of showing HP's appreciation," continued Mr. Kumar.

Each winner also received a state of the arts HP Pavilion m9000 Entertainment PC and monitor. As HP's most advanced powerful consumer PC to date, m9000 boasts features including HP Easy Backup button, two easily accessible Personal and Pocket Media Drive slots, wireless peripherals and a unique landing pad for USBs. Its designed for consumers who demand the very best in digital entertainment, photography and gaming experiences.

With a grand total of eight finalists, a winner was chosen from each gaming category. Hadi Ahmad Mohammed, Abduallh Fahad Al- Nuaimi, Khalid Talal Khalid, Saif Salem Al-Kubaisi, Ali Rashed Al- Muhairi, Inas Ilyas, Faisal Hamdan and Rami Alghanem were all undefeated in their respective games, and are the talented victors who will represent the UAE in the final championships.

Gamers over the age of sixteen were allowed entrance in the special gaming hall fitted with top, modern, gaming technology.
