KDDI to Launch Domestic Telegram Service
Tokyo, June 24 (Jiji Press)–KDDI Corp. said Tuesday it will start providing a domestic telegram service through a subsidiary in July.
KDDI said it plans to provide high-quality telegrams for special occasions, the potentially most demanded segment, for 3,150 yen to 4,200 yen, about 20 pct to 30 pct cheaper than those of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. , which dominates the Japanese telegram market with a share of over 90 pct.
Through a tie-up with transport firm Nippon Express Co. , KDDI has built a telegram distribution network across Japan.
KDDI will receive orders on its specialized Web site for the new service. With additional fees, users will be able to send bouquets together.END
