NSI Software Names New CEO; Software Industry Veteran, Dean Goodermote Appointed Chief Executive

NSI Software, Inc. (NSI(R)), a leading provider of high availability and data replication technology and services, today announced that Dean Goodermote has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Goodermote replaces Don Beeler, who has served as CEO of NSI since its inception in 1991.
As Chief Executive Officer of NSI, Goodermote will be responsible for leading the company through its next stage of growth and product expansion. Goodermote brings a working knowledge of NSI to this position, having served as an observer to the company's board of directors.
In addition to his familiarity with NSI, Goodermote brings with him over 20 years of senior management experience in the technology industry, and has led a number of companies through various expansion stages. With this background, he is uniquely qualified to take the reigns of NSI as the company continues to grow. Goodermote was the CEO of Clinsoft and Process Software, and the Chairman and President of MRO Software (formerly PSDI), which he led through a successful IPO and secondary offering.
Goodermote became CEO of Clinsoft, the world's leading developer of software for clinical research, after several years of active participation at the board level as Chairman of the company and as Chairman and President of Domain Solutions, the parent holding company of Clinsoft. During his CEO tenure at Clinsoft, the company re-oriented its product positioning, returned to profitability and produced record revenues. In August of 2001 it merged with Phase Forward, to create the dominant software company for clinical development.
As CEO of Process Software, a developer of Internetworking software, Goodermote restructured the company, acquired a product line from Cisco and launched a new development organization. During his tenure of more than three years, the company increased core Internetworking revenues by more than 250%, and launched a new product line in the directory-based IP Management space for Internet addressing and broadband provisioning. The core Process business was sold and Dean co-founded a new company, IPworks, which was acquired by Ericsson for its IT mobile communications business.
"Through working with the people at NSI and its board in the past, I know I'm joining a great company with unlimited growth potential," said Goodermote. "The disaster recovery market is stronger than ever and NSI is already a highly respected company with strong and widely deployed technology, positioned to experience continued growth."
Goodermote began his high-tech career as a ground floor member of a start-up PC software company in the early 1980's after three years in strategic planning for Conoco, a large integrated energy business. He later held various sales and marketing positions with several high- tech companies, including Data Resources Inc. He will work from NSI Software's Southboro, Mass. office.
