ERF Wireless Lands Second BranchNet Project in Texas
ERF Wireless (OTCBB:ERFW), a leading provider of enterprise-class wireless and broadband products and services, announced today that its ERF Enterprise Network Services subsidiary has reached an agreement with West Texas State Bank to install a BranchNet encrypted enterprise-class wireless banking network to interconnect the bank’s six branches located in the greater Odessa, Texas, area, including Midland, Kermit and Monahans. The initial portion of the project will include construction of a 150-mile, fault-tolerant, encrypted 30-Mb/s wireless network backbone with associated network monitoring, support and maintenance services. The multi-year agreement also includes recurring revenues from the delivery of high-speed Internet access to commercial customers.
Robert Wells, Senior Vice President of West Texas State Bank, remarked, “The secure network being constructed for the bank will not only save us money for data communications, long distance and courier costs over the next 10 to 20 years, it will also increase our bandwidth to individual branches nearly 40-fold. This network allows our bank to add new digital services which improve efficiencies and lower transport costs. We will now have the capability to look at voice-over-IP, video conferencing, document imaging, commercial remote deposit, item imaging and branch capture, remote desktop support and branch IP security cameras viewable across the high-capacity network.”
Mike Moehle, Executive Vice-President of ERF Enterprise Network Services, commented, “This is another project involving the new Motorola Orthogon microwave radios that incorporate spatially diverse point-to-point links that have historically proven to offer excellent reliability. To secure the network and provide fail-over routing, we’ll also be installing our patent-pending CryptoVue(R) security appliances at remote locations and at the main and secondary operations centers of the bank, while providing monitoring services of the network from our Network Operations Center in League City, Texas, using our patent-pending MonitorVue(TM) System. We will complete this turnkey solution by featuring ERF Wireless’ WiNet commercial Internet service in several of the West Texas State Bank market areas offering high-speed broadband services to the bank’s residential and commercial customers.”
Mark W. Sparks, CEO of West Texas State Bank, noted, “An important part of West Texas State Bank’s mission is to provide comprehensive financial services to support our communities that exceed the expectations of our customers. The efficiencies gained through the use of advanced digital applications that are available today, in addition to a host of others that will be available in the future, will help us attain our mission. We recognize that more bandwidth at a lower cost will also enable the bank to increase the efficiency of the bank’s voice, data and video communications. ERF Enterprise Network Services affords us the opportunity to build a low-cost, state-of-the-art network that will vault us well ahead of the competition.”
R. Greg Smith, CEO of ERF Enterprise Network Services, commented, “The West Texas State Bank contract reinforces our position as the leading provider of high-speed encrypted wireless networks for regional banking institutions in the U.S.” Smith added, “Our goal is to close at least 120 Texas BranchNet system sales out of the 656 banks and 640 credit unions in the state of Texas over the next five to seven years. If successful, ERF Wireless has the potential of generating in excess of $100 million in initial design and construction revenues from our Texas BranchNet systems, while we continue building the Texas portion of the US-BankNet System.”
