Internap Network Services Corporation (AMEX: IIP), the leading provider of performance-based routing technology over the Internet, will now serve AT&T's Internet Data Centers (IDCs) in Atlanta, GA; Mesa, AZ; Allen, TX; Secaucus, NJ; New York, NY; Ashburn, VA; Lisle, IL; Los Angeles, CA and Lynnwood, WA. Through the Internap Private Network Access Points (P-NAPs) in these cities, AT&T will provide the Internap multi-carrier management capability to customers hosting critical applications such as VoIP, music downloads, video conferencing, stock trades, streaming audio/video, online gaming, e-commerce, remote connectivity and other business-critical applications requiring high-performance bandwidth.
Under terms of an agreement announced last year, AT&T has partnered with Internap to provide multi-carrier functionality to help in meeting growing customer demands for high-availability, reliable and redundant IP connectivity services. The integrated solution from AT&T and Internap is ideal for customers who may not desire or have the resources to implement a multiple Internet Service Provider (ISP) system, particularly those who require diversity and high performance but may also have smaller bandwidth requirements.
"We are excited to see that our partnership with AT&T is proving beneficial for these customers," said Internap Chief Executive Officer Greg Peters. "Service providers are entering a new era, one in which customers will demand more performance from the Internet than ever before as demand for critical applications becomes widespread. We are proud to supply AT&T with a critical resource to serve the needs of these customers."
Internap's unique performance routing and multi-carrier capability ensures that AT&T hosting customers continue to receive high levels of redundancy, flexibility and security, even as they adopt multiple-carrier strategies to address business continuity requirements. Today's high-demand, mission-critical applications are putting increasing demands on network availability and performance.
Internap's managed IP network services are available from AT&T's IDCs via Internap's extensive network of P-NAPs, which connect directly to multiple Internet backbones in major cities across the U.S. These P-NAPs provide high-speed connectivity and the most direct routing of customer traffic through the Internap intelligent route control technology, allowing clients to avoid congestions and bottlenecks associated with traditional Internet traffic management.
