PT Excelcomindo Selects Alcatel-Lucent to Provide Carrier Ethernet Services

Alcatel-Lucent has announced that PT Excelcomindo, a cellular services provider in Indonesia, has chosen its end-to-end solution to provide carrier ethernet services in Jakarta's business district.

Alcatel-Lucent's comprehensive solution is expected to enable Excelcomindo (XL) to offer reliable and differentiated services to its corporate customers, including IP/MPLS-based virtual leased line (VLL) and virtual private LAN (VPLS) services as well as circuit emulation services.

Under the terms of the contract, XL will deploy Alcatel-Lucent's IP/MPLS portfolio, including its 7750 Service Router, 7450 Ethernet Service Switch and the 7250 Service Access Switch, all managed by the 5620 Service Aware Anger. The contract also includes consultation, design project management, application/ software, installation and commissioning maintenance services.

Frederic Rose, president of Alcatel-Lucent's activities in Europe, Asia and Africa, said: "We have provided XL with our optical transmission and GSM solutions for several years now and are pleased that based on their experience with us and the robustness of the solution we proposed they decided to extend our relationship with them to include our carrier ethernet solutions."
