Tech Mahindra Wins $23m NZ Telecoms Contract

India-based software services provider Tech Mahindra has won a NZD30m ($23m) contract from New Zealand-based Telecom Corp to overhaul its retail business.

Tech Mahindra will upgrade Telecom's internal systems to enable Telecom to cut costs and give customers more self-service options.

The company is spending NZD 1 billion ($0.76 billion) a year on a new mobile network, expanding its fiber network and upgrading it to internet-based services.

According to Pawel Grochowicz, general manager of retail transformation at Telecom, up to 300 Tech Mahindra and Telecom staff will be engaged on the multi-year project.
