ERP vendor Epicor Software and IBM have announced an integrated retail-management product.

The companies will develop and market the offering to centrally manage and support point-of-sale hardware and software via IBM’s Remote Management Agent (RMA), which enables remote configuration, software distribution, proactive remote monitoring, asset tracking, and diagnostic and problem determination.

The combination of IBM’s RMA and Epicor’s Retail Store products will offer retailers the ability to remotely monitor, configure, and track hardware and software in one store or multiple store locations from a central point.

Juhi Jotwani, vice president of marketing and strategy retail store solutions business at IBM, said: “Our relationship with Epicor demonstrates our joint commitment to provide retailers fully integrated retail-management products, at lower total cost of ownership and a central point of contact for service and support.”

The partnership follows Epicor’s $322m acquisition last year of retail software and services company NSB Retail Systems.
