Amstrad stands for Alan Michael Sugar Trading, founded in 1968.
It went public in 1980 and doubled in size every year for five years.
In 1984 he launched the CPC-464 – the first mass – market home computer package with built-in tape recorder.
One of its most famous products was the ZX Spectrum+3 computer.
