Posted on: Monday, 25 April 2005, 06:00 CDT
Helius, Inc., the worldwide leader in business class data broadcasting solutions, and Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) Broadcast Communications Division announced today that Harris will integrate Helius' patented software with its H-Class(TM) Content Delivery Platform. The agreement creates a new class of IP-ready video asset management products that extend the functionality of the platform's asset management capabilities.
The Harris H-Class(TM) Content Delivery Platform enables customers to utilize Media Exchange Format (MXF) metadata to search, retrieve and manage content across their organization. By integrating the Helius technologies into this offering, Harris enables their customers to deliver MXF tagged content to any point on the network. This advancement allows organizations to catalog their entire existing library of content and extend the uses of this valuable media. The H-Class(TM) platform also supports industry standard security, supporting digital certificates and IPSec data encryption.
According to Ron Heinz, President and CEO of Helius, "The development of the Harris H-Class(TM) Content Delivery Platform will allow broader use of both new and existing rich media files pervasively in any LAN/WAN infrastructure. Media asset management and re-use is important in today's world. This new product line makes sending MPEG4 files as easy as sending Word documents to a colleague across the hall."
