California Project is Third Off CTI's IDIQ Contract with the U.S. Army Project Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems
Cornet Technology Communications, the network communications solutions division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), announced an order valued at $884,329 for a CTI MTX 256 Tech Control Switching System, for the United States Army at Camp Roberts, California. This project is the third order off the $5 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract that CTI holds with the U.S. Army Project Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) to support the World Wide Technical Control Improvement Program (WWTCIP).
CTI's MTX 256 Tech Control Switching System is an automated network infrastructure management system designed to modernize the tech control center at Camp Roberts. CTI's system automates the switching and record keeping processes, while reducing the amount of equipment and resources necessary to perform communications testing more efficiently. The system also saves space by replacing more than 16 cables with one fiber-optic network cable and by replacing entire walls of hardware with one or two racks in a single space-saving encasement.
Thomas Bennett, president, Cornet Technology Communications division, Cornet Technology, Inc., said, "CTI continues to supply the U.S. Army with the automated infrastructure management products necessary to maintain a superior level of communications. By using CTI's Tech Control Switching Systems, the U.S. Army will be able to automate, modernize and more efficiently manage the activities and current processes at its tech control centers."
The IDIQ contract is held with the Project Manager Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems (PM DCATS) in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey. This program management office provides worldwide project management of communications transmission systems projects and other special programs. The contract is one of two $5 million or five-year contracts that CTI has with PM DCATS to support the WWTCIP by modernizing and automating communications and testing at tech control centers worldwide.
Two CTI Tech Control Switching Systems have already been installed at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
