"One of our primary goals is to create popular, original programming for emerging markets such as IPTV and other mobile devices," said Charles Overton, president and managing director of Media One Direct. "Media One Direct was chosen to develop and produce the promo and tutorials for Ingram Micro because our production staff at Illusion Digital Studio has years of experience developing and producing this type of content."
Utilizing the NAV740's video player capabilities, these new videos can be installed onto the system for quick access by the user as a refresher on the rich set of features that come standard on the product. Initially, the promotional video will be pre-installed on the NAV740 beginning with Q3/08 production. Users choosing to utilize larger SD cards can easily add the full set of training videos along with a range of picture, music and video content. The videos can also be accessed online at http://video.v7support.com.
"Ingram Micro is excited to offer and highlight these new video tools," said Jeffrey Friederichs, senior manager for global marketing and North American sales for Ingram Micro's global private label division. "Clearly communicating the advanced capabilities assists with the purchasing process, but more importantly, accelerating the learning curve on accessing these advanced capabilities will enrich the user experience, promoting higher customer satisfaction."
The V7 NAV740 has won numerous awards for its design and functionality from media outlets including PC Magazine, Hardware Geeks and Laptop Magazine. The NAV740 is a touch-screen enabled PND with an easy-to-use, intuitive graphical user interface and turn-by-turn, text-to-speech capabilities (e.g., turn left on Broadway) that allow users to see and hear how to get to their destination. Other premium features include a 4.3-inch 480x272 TFT-LCD high-resolution display, a 400MHz CPU for faster map redraws, enhanced AV capabilities, SD card technology for expandable storage, preloaded maps, and a built-in high-performance multimedia (audio and video) player that supports the most popular audio, video, and digital picture formats (MP3, WMA, OGG, MPEG4, AVI, WMV, GIF, JPG, TIFF).
"We look forward to a continued partnership with Media One Direct in providing our customers with a source of innovative and entertaining programming content that will enhance their experiences with our products," said Friederichs.
