Fios Expands E-Discovery Consulting Team With IT Veterans

Posted on: Tuesday, 8 July 2008, 15:00 CDT

Fios(R) Inc., dedicated exclusively to delivering comprehensive electronic discovery services to corporations and their outside counsel, today announced the continued expansion of its consulting group to address the high demand for its e-discovery consulting services by IT departments at highly litigious corporations and financial institutions. New consultants Casey Bailey and David Ray bring a combined 30+ years of experience working with IT professionals in building repeatable business processes for managing compliance-focused initiatives. Their expertise of technology and the financial services market will help meet the growing needs of Fios' clients seeking to improve information governance, records management and IT infrastructures for managing complex e-discovery.

"As legal and risk management requirements around electronically stored information (ESI) become more complex, CIOs and IT managers are looking for proactive approaches to managing their organization's information technology infrastructure. Network shares, messaging and business continuity systems all require e-discovery improvements," said Sam Panarella, vice president and managing director of Fios Consulting. "The demand for our e-discovery consulting services to address these IT challenges has never been greater, especially in industries such as financial services, where subprime lending-related litigation and investigations are mounting. Casey's and David's experience working with global IT infrastructures and financial services companies will be a true asset to our clients."

Casey Bailey has spent the past 10 years working as a senior network engineer and assistant vice president with The Bank of New York Mellon. He has nearly 20 years experience in the technology and financial services industry, providing IT analysis, project management, program development and deployment services on leading technology initiatives, including overseeing the e-discovery IT team at the Bank of New York. Bailey's expertise lies in both technology deployments and compliance initiatives. He earned his B.S. in information technology from the University of Phoenix.

David Ray is both an attorney and a computer technology veteran, with extensive experience in understanding legal process and IT implementations. He joins Fios after earning a J.D., with a focus in law and technology management, from Syracuse University, and an LL.M. in intellectual property law and policy from the University of Washington. While attending school, he worked as a researcher for leading professors at both universities, as well as served as a law clerk for a U.S. District Court judge. Prior to law school, Ray served as vice president of technology for Digitas LLC, a worldwide marketing and technology services organization whose clients included Fortune 100 companies such as Ericsson, Dell, Morgan Stanley, General Motors and American Express. In this role, he helped design and implement technology solutions to meet global growth needs for clients in the U.S. and Europe. Ray began his technology-based career as a litigation information systems specialist with Nixon Peabody LLP.
