Aastra Telecom has launched AastraLink RPTM, a Microsoft Response PointT phone system designed specifically for small businesses that have up to 50 employees.

According to the company, the AastraLink RP phone system is comprised of the RP 500 base unit which hosts the Response Point system software, the RP 540 gateway with four analog telephone ports, and a choice of three Aastra Response Point IP phone models.

Setting up features such as auto-discovery and auto-configuration, or changing the system can be done by an average PC user in minutes with no special phone training or additional license fees. In addition to supporting both IP and traditional analog calling, other system features include a voice-enabled user interface, advanced call routing, built-in voice mail, automated receptionist and contact integration with Microsoft Office Outlook.

Three different enterprise-grade phones have been developed for the AastraLink RP system: the entry level 6751i RP, the full featured 6753i RP, and the advanced 6757i CT RP which comes with a cordless handset.

Yves Laliberte, executive vice president at Aastra Telecom, said: “The combination of Microsoft’s unique voice-enabled telephony software, and Aastra’s robust feature rich phones, offers a powerful yet affordable telephone system for Small Businesses that have 1 to 50 employees.”
