Satel to Deploy MetaSwitch’s Softswitch Solutions

MetaSwitch, a vendor of switching and applications solutions for both packet and circuit-switched networks, has announced that Satel, a telecommunications division of the Telemicro Group, has signed a multi-million dollar contract to deploy its softswitch solutions for its new network serving residential and business subscribers in the Dominican Republic.

According to MetaSwitch, its CA9024 call agents and MG2510 media gateways will be deployed nationwide to provide class four and class five call termination services. The MetaSwitch solution provides a carrier-class system that will also serves as the foundation for Satel’s prepaid calling services offer.

The MetaSwitch Professional Services group will be providing on-site support to assist Satel in project management, network design, and deployment.
