C-COR's Policy Service Manager Qualified By CableLabs in First Wave of PacketCable Multimedia Testing

Posted on: Thursday, 5 May 2005, 09:00 CDT

C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL), a global provider of interoperable network solutions that simplify the transition to on-demand networks, today announced that its Policy Service Manager (PSM(TM)) received CableLabs(R) PacketCable(TM) Multimedia qualification in April 2005 as part of Certification Wave 34. C-COR's PSM provides network operators with dynamic on demand network capacity management for multimedia applications. PacketCable is a CableLabs-led initiative to develop interoperable interface specifications for delivering advanced, real-time multimedia services over two-way cable plant.

PacketCable networks use Internet protocol (IP) technology to enable a wide range of multimedia services such as IP telephony, multimedia conferencing, and interactive gaming, among others. The PacketCable Certification Testing Program assists cable operators by assessing vendor product conformance with PacketCable specifications, interoperability with other PacketCable-compliant products, and compatibility with the DOCSIS(R) access network. C-COR's CableLabs-certified PSM is available for early deployment for select operators, with general market availability scheduled for the latter half of calendar year 2005.

C-COR's Chairman and CEO, David Woodle, explains and demonstrates how the PSM benefits cable operators as they launch new services in a webcast taped at the 2005 NCTA Show and available on C-COR's website (www.c-cor.com).
