Trial Set in Double-Slaying

July 17, 2008

POMONA – The trial is to begin Monday for a man suspected of killing his mother and her companion in their Glendora home during a robbery, officials said.

The trial of Robert Lee Lewis, 36, is accused of killing his mother, 51-year-old Pamela Dumais, and her companion, 52-year-old Rodney Courtright.

The couple’s bodies were found Oct. 25, 2006, in their home in the 900 block of Ivy Street after Courtright’s co-workers reported he hadn’t shown up for work, officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

According to court records, Lewis is being held without bail on two counts of murder and one count of robbery and could face the death penalty if convicted.
