Mixi Sets Up Unit in Shanghai
Tokyo, July 18 (Jiji Press)–Japan’s largest social networking Web site operator Mixi Inc. has established a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai to launch services in the Chinese market, company officials said Friday.
Mixi plans to launch its social networking services in China as early as this year. These allow users to socialize with friends online by keeping diaries and creating message boards.
Mixi President Kenji Kasahara will concurrently serve as head of the Chinese unit, which is capitalized at 2.7 million U.S. dollars.END
