Amber Alert Issued for 1-Year-Old From Wisconsin

By Chicago Tribune

Wisconsin authorities put out an Amber Alert on Friday for a 1-year-old Racine girl who may have been abducted.

Khalasia Macemon was last seen in the 1900 block of Mead Street in Racine and is described as a "mixed-race female" who is 18 inches tall, weighs 21 pounds and has a dark complexion; short, curly black hair; and brown eyes, according to Wisconsin's Amber Alert Web site.

The site said she was last seen wearing a green dress with flowers on it, rainbow-colored shoes and white socks.

The suspect in the possible abduction is Torry Lee Smithiwer, 19, also known as Malikiah, according to the Web site. He is described as African-American, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, with a dark complexion, shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. The site said he has two tattoos, one that says "TY" on his left arm and "L" on his left forearm.

He was last seen wearing bluejeans, a black T-shirt and black "Jordan" shoes.

The Web site does not indicate when Khalasia or Smithiwer were last seen but said the two might be heading to an airport in the Milwaukee area.

Anyone with information about the case should contact Racine police, 262-635-7700.

Racine is 73 miles north of Chicago.
