BT Unveils Branded Entertainment Site

BT has launched BT Podshow, a website hosting more than one million hours of podcasts, as it aims to strengthen its position as an entertainment provider. BT PodShow (www.btpodshow.com/) allows users to collect and share videos and music, upload their own content and build a network of friends.
“The BT PodShow network has a broad range of programming to suit every taste. Audiences can view online at any time, or choose to subscribe for automatic download to their iPods,” said Adam Curry, president of BT PodShow.
Users can download content directly to their computer, mp3 player or mobile phone. Initial content ranges from music to gaming programme, a weekly online sex therapist show and comedy. Further podcasts are set to be added over the year, including a cookery show, entertainment gossip programme and sports news round-up show.
A weekly podcast round-up, Podfinder UK, searches the network for the pick of podcasts and video blogs.
Last month, BT ramped up its content through a deal with Universal Studios, allowing BTVision customers to subscribe to Universal’s PictureBox video-on-demand service for a Pounds 5 flat fee.
