Message Systems Adds ISP Email Services and Infrastructure Expert to Carrier Solutions Sales Team

Posted on: Tuesday, 22 July 2008, 09:00 CDT

Email solutions provider Message Systems announced today that Martin Deen has joined the company as Solutions Architect for Message Systems' high-performance email delivery system. With more than a decade of experience designing, deploying and operating ISP email services, Deen brings a wealth of technical and industry knowledge to Message Systems where he evaluates customer messaging challenges and maps out solutions using Message Systems products.

"Martin is a welcomed addition to our sales and marketing team," said Barry Abel, Message Systems' vice president of Field Operations. "His deep understanding and working knowledge of carrier-class email systems -- including the engineering, operations and architecture groups within the Internet delivery organization of MSOs and Telcos -- and his system operations experience managing complex carrier environments consisting of hundreds of servers and national networks makes him invaluable to both our sales team and our customers, especially during the product evaluation phase."

Prior to joining Message Systems, Deen served as senior sales engineer for Bizanga and was principal systems engineer for Openwave Systems. He was also manager of the High Speed Internet Messaging Team at Cox Communications where he established Cox's consumer email platform, which supported over three million mail accounts and was awarded PC World's highest rating. He also served as senior infrastructure specialist for EDS/BellSouth and was an Internet technologist for CTG. While serving as a network architect for BellSouth.net in 2000, he designed, engineered and implemented a new central email server to support more than a million users. Over the course of his professional career, Deen has obtained an extensive technical background in design and engineering with wireless operators, telecommunications companies and Internet service providers.

Deen was a founding member of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group (MAAWG), serving on the original Board of Directors. He was also the organization's first Collaboration Committee chairperson and he wrote MAAWG's original Code of Conduct.
