Thomson's Premier Retail Networks, Inc. (PRN), the world's most experienced provider of digital media solutions at retail, and GSN (Game Show Network), the premier television network for games, today announced a programming deal to present a unique blend of branded content to shoppers on PRN's Checkout TV(TM) network in supermarkets nationwide.
"Catch 21 In Line" combines elements of GSN's new game show "Catch 21" customized for shoppers on PRN's Checkout TV(TM) network with a GSN campaign promo designed to get shoppers to tune in to the show. As shoppers wait in line, they are invited by a message from host Alfonso Ribeiro to play the game by answering trivia questions worth a total of 21 points. The campaign runs through August 3, 2008 in 1,004 supermarkets that offer Checkout TV(TM).
"We are very pleased to add GSN to our list of premier content providers on our Checkout TV(TM) network," said Richard Fisher, PRN president. "This alliance provides an integrated way for GSN to promote one of their new shows on our network while providing shoppers with fun and engaging content that helps our retail partners leave a positive experience with their customers."
"GSN is always looking for new ways to engage viewers in our original shows and PRN's Checkout TV(TM) network gave us a unique avenue to use original programming to achieve our goals," commented GSN's Kelly Bernstein Sloan, Executive Director of Marketing & Promotions.
GSN, Vice President of Marketing & Promotions, Ally Goldsby, added, "Games are GSN's DNA! What better way to reach women than with an activity they love to engage in at a place that they're regularly at. We recognize that being attentive to a woman's lifestyle and understanding how best to place our GSN brand in her mindset is critical. Working together with PRN has enabled us to do just that."
PRN operates the world's largest Checkout TV(TM) network, presenting engaging programming on more than 19,000 multi-paned screens that entertains and informs shoppers while they wait in line at supermarket and retail locations. PRN currently has more than 100 active content partnerships with many top television networks and publishers, covering a wide range of programming content.
PRN enables retailers and manufacturers to reach consumers in over 6,500 leading retail stores worldwide. PRN works with retailers, content partners and advertisers to create in-store programming that engages, informs and motivates consumers where they shop. PRN's programming alliances include major television networks and other media properties, as well as movie studios, record labels and magazine and newspaper publishers. PRN's retailer customers include ACME, Albertsons, Best Buy, Carrefour, Circuit City, Costco, Jewel-Osco, Pathmark, Sam's Club, Shaw's, ShopRite, Star Market, and Walmart Stores.
