MCI Selects Tellabs to Help Power Its New Converged Packet Access Network

NAPERVILLE, Ill., May 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tellabs today announced that MCI, Inc., has selected the Tellabs(R) MultiservicePLuS(SM) solution for MCI's Converged Packet Access (CPA) network. The Tellabs MultiservicePLuS solution will be deployed in cities across the United States as part of MCI's CPA network.

MCI selected the Tellabs MultiservicePLuS solution because it meets multiple MCI requirements in a single platform, including:

customer applications, as well as individualized SLA services in a

single chassis;

-- Optimized data platform for existing and emerging IP and Ethernet

services over a single, carrier-class MPLS network, providing

logical/automated service provisioning;

-- True service interworking for any-to-any access network communications

across customer locations, regardless of access protocol; and

-- Carrier-class hardware and software reliability, even during software

upgrades.
