Interactive Media Student Attracts American Company
NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD Joe Hoyle has landed himself a plum job with one of the biggest internet companies in America.
Joe, aged 19, is taking his National Diploma in Interactive Media from Pembrokeshire College to work for Detroit-based Name Media, which owns one of country's largest portfolios of web domain names, including photography.com and gardening.com.
In addition, he has his own company, Joe Hoyle Web and Graphic Design, and he freelances in his spare time. His ambition is to become a leading web designer.
Joe said: "I love computer technology, especially the forever changing landscape it moves in. Pembrokeshire College kept me focused and introduced me to new design techniques.
Without it I would not have gained employment with Name Media."
Denys Bassett Jones, design lecturer at Pembrokeshire College, said: "This is a great example of vocational courses working hard for both employer and employee. It is encouraging to see a young and talented entrepreneur gaining recognised qualifications and work with an international company. At 19, it doesn't get better than this!"
