July 24, 2008

The new Web site includes a completely redesigned homepage, including a Consumer Hot Plate, for the month of July, which takes visitors to perfect turkey recipes for active living. Once there, guests can learn about the nutritional benefits of eating turkey, and find new ways to incorporate perfect protein recipes into their healthy lifestyles. Visitors are also linked to the Consumer Featured Product on the homepage — this month is the turkey breast.

“We want to surround EatTurkey.com visitors with interactive tools to learn about the nutritional content of turkey, as well as provide new and unique ways to include this protein in their busy lifestyles,” said Sherrie Rosenblatt, NTF’s vice president of marketing and communications. “With the new Web site, we’ve added an enormous amount of content up front and it will be updated throughout the year.”

The site’s consumer section provides a scrolling library of plate shots that with a simple “click” takes visitors directly to each recipe. This area also offers seasonal and holiday ideas. For the health-conscious consumer, EatTurkey.com supplies multiple pages on nutrition. Web viewers are shown how turkey stacks up nutritionally against other proteins, as well as the nutritional profile of various cuts of turkey products. In fact, a 3-ounce portion of roasted skinless turkey breast contains only 3 grams of fat and is naturally low in sodium, containing less than 25 milligrams per ounce.

Another feature of EatTurkey.com is the option to receive a monthly recipe E-mail. Visitors can sign up on the consumer section of the site to receive an E-mail the first Thursday of every month that highlights different seasonal turkey recipes along with the latest news about turkey products.

NTF has worked hard to ensure that visitors to the upgraded EatTurkey.com won’t be sacrificing good taste for good health. The user-friendly site shows how the many turkey cuts and products available today can be incorporated into any meal, which means cooking delicious, convenient and healthy meals is easier than ever before.

“We are very excited about this new phase of EatTurkey.com,” said Rosenblatt. “And we are confident that the updated site will give visitors many more reasons to cook with turkey and integrate it into their daily meal rotation.”
