BRIEF: Southbound I-43 Closure Ties Up Traffic
By Annysa Johnson, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Jul. 26--A highway closure as part of the Marquette Interchange project is causing bumper-to-bumper traffic downtown today, and delays can be expected until at least 6 p.m., according to the project Web site.
I-43 southbound will remain closed until noon just past the McKinley/Fond du Lac exit, then from noon to 6 p.m. just past the I-94 west ramp to Madison, both for final paving and lane alignment. As part of the full freeway closure, the North Ave. entrance ramp to I-43 south will also be closed, the Web site said.
The web site offers three possible detours, onto McKinley Ave., North Ave., and I-94 West. They can be found at www.mchange.org.
