Less than two months after its official launch, Soundboard announced today that it had accumulated ten thousand user-generated soundboards — containing over 139,000 mp3 audio tracks and sound bites in twenty different categories.

“It’s the largest audio resource on the Internet,” says Mike Mitchell of Soundboard.com, citing its use by radio stations, teachers, gamers, DJs and more. “If you’re looking for a specific piece of audio, whether it’s Churchill or Car Horns — we’re the best place to start.”

Mitchell credits the site’s organic success to blogs and social networks as well as a system that allows anyone to build and customize their own audio ‘soundboard’ — an ordered, categorized collection of sound clips.

“You used to need HTML, design and Flash skills to create a soundboard of any kind,” Mitchell adds. “With our tools, you don’t even need audio clips,” he finishes, referring to the Board Share program which allows members to grab tracks from other boards and add them to their own.

Board builders choose their color, player style, add description, link and smart tags, plus rearrange their boards via drag-n-drop functions. Boards can be embedded, tracks downloaded, sounds sent via email and friends invited.

“We made it easy to customize, manage and share your creation — that’s why we have over 139,000 clips,” Mitchell concludes, “and that’s just the start.”

Soundboard.com is the Internet’s largest library of sound bites and categorized soundboards. Visit http://www.soundboard.com for more details.
