CLOSTER, N.J., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Ericom Software, a global leader in Application Access and Virtualization solutions and a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, today announced that PowerTerm(R) WebConnect, Ericom's presentation virtualization (SBC) and desktop virtualization (VDI) solution, now integrates with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager, which manages virtual machines running on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 and VMware ESX Server.
As an intuitive and cost-effective solution, Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect accelerates virtual desktop deployments to meet the expanding virtualization needs of today's organizations. PowerTerm WebConnect provides secure and centrally managed access to Virtual Desktops, Windows Terminal Servers, Blade PCs, Remote Workstations and legacy host systems. By integrating PowerTerm WebConnect with Microsoft's System Center Virtual Machine Manager, IT administrators will be able to centrally manage and deploy System Center managed virtual machines to users across the organization. Additionally, management of virtual desktops and server-based applications takes place from within the datacenter -- significantly reducing the cost and complexity of managing traditional PC environments.
Microsoft's System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 provides a straightforward and cost-effective solution for unified management of physical and virtual machines, consolidation of underutilized physical servers with Microsoft Hyper-V, and rapid provisioning of new virtual machines by leveraging the expertise and investments in Microsoft Windows Server technology.
"As organizations continue to increase the pace at which they're adopting virtualization technologies for their desktops through datacenters, such as presentation virtualization and Hyper-V, it's critical that they have the right set of tools for managing these environments," said Zane Adam, Sr. Director of Virtualization at Microsoft. "Microsoft is pleased to see Ericom deliver these new offerings which integrate with System Center Virtual Machine Manager to provide customers with a powerful combination of technologies for the deployment and management of virtualized environments."
Ericom Founder and CEO, Eran Heyman, commented, "Microsoft's System Center Virtual Machine Manager coupled with Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect provides organizations with a comprehensive platform for the streamlined management and delivery of virtual desktops. With the combined technologies, local and remote users can access their System Center managed virtual desktops -- anywhere and anytime -- enhancing overall business agility and productivity."
