Reliance Globalcom Selects Juniper for Network Upgradation
Juniper Networks has announced that Reliance Globalcom, a division of Reliance Communications, plans to upgrade its metro network in the US with its MX-series ethernet services routers and M120 multiservice edge routers to support 10 gigabit ethernet and beyond in major metropolitan areas.
The upgrade extends MPLS and virtual private LAN service to the network edge, improving network performance and ensuring scalability to address forthcoming demands for additional capacity.
According to Juniper Networks, Reliance Globalcom will deploy its MX-series ethernet services routers with its managed metro ethernet service to link multiple enterprise LANs within a single metro over ethernet-based metropolitan fiber networks. The MX-series delivers up to 960Gbps of switching and routing capacity.
Reliance Globalcom will now integrate the new Juniper equipment into its Juniper-based global ethernet virtual private LAN service platform. With this deployment, Reliance Globalcom will gain a service-enabling network infrastructure that is capable of scaling to support VoIP, high-definition video conferencing, backup and recovery, electronic trading and other multi-media business applications.
Manoj Leelanivas, senior vice president and general manager for edge and aggregation business unit at Juniper Networks, said: “Reliance Globalcom’s vision of becoming a top five global communications provider aligns with Juniper’s strategy to deliver solutions that enable customers to extract more value out of their network, and we are very pleased to be working closely with them.”
