Metrobility Solution Enables Technology in IP Networks' Model of Offering Profitable Ethernet and IP Services to Enterprise Customers
Metrobility Optical Systems today announced that IP Networks, Inc. (IPN), a facilities-based competitive local carrier, has adopted Metrobility's Radiance E-Services suite of products for its first mile Ethernet services. Metrobility's carrier-class Radiance E-Services Network Interface Device (NID), Radiance Central Service Platform, Radiance Premise Service Platform and Radiance Gigabit Services Line Cards (SLC) provide IPN the ability to offer fully-managed metro Ethernet services to enterprises in the San Francisco Bay area.
IPN satisfies the demand for affordable high bandwidth Ethernet transport and IP services with a fiber optic, legacy-free network that operates at a fundamentally lower operating cost than its competitors while exceeding requirements for scalability and reliability. IPN uses Metrobility equipment to provision and manage last mile Ethernet services for enterprise connectivity to data centers, remote offices and carrier POP's. Metrobility's Radiance suite provides a secure and manageable Ethernet demarcation point between IPN and the enterprise customer's network to provide remote troubleshooting and management features that reduce both capital and operational expenditures and provide IPN the ability to offer unmatched service reliability to customers.
"IP Networks Inc. provides the most valuable and cost-effective network in the Bay Area based upon access to the utility infrastructure that enables us to profitably provide advanced telecommunications services to enterprise buildings," said Robert Willis, vice president of IPN. "If our customers' service is not working, their businesses stop. Therefore it is essential to have a reliable and manageable network. After a competitive review, we selected Metrobility Radiance management solutions for our last mile services because they provide the most comprehensive set of management capabilities and are simple enough to ensure low operational expenses. With Metrobility, we have the capabilities to ensure service reliability."
Metrobility's Radiance solution provides an array of operations, administration and management features, compliant with Ethernet in the First Mile standards, to reduce total service provider costs while simplifying service deployment to their customers. Quality of Line (QoL), Quality of Equipment (QoE) and Quality of Optical Amplitude (QoOA) monitoring, along with remote loopback and remote bandwidth management capabilities enable IPN to maintain comprehensive service levels agreements for major technology, finance and legal services companies, many of them Fortune 500 enterprises.
"To increase reliability and manage operating expenses, we have applied a keep-it-simple model to our network architecture," Willis said. "With Metrobility, we are able to provision and manage services in minutes which directly translates to OPEX. In short, our customers are happy with the reliability, security and performance and IPN is happy with the ROI. IPN and its customers are fully realizing the promise of Ethernet services."
"Metrobility enables network builders to offer carrier-class services for voice, video and data to end users," said Alex Saunders, CEO of Metrobility. "Simple and easy to deploy, provision and manage, Ethernet enables carriers to roll out more bandwidth to more locations, improve service flexibility and simplicity and provide cost-effective and rapid rollouts of new services to customers. We view our Radiance line of solutions as important enabling technology for service providers wishing to cost-effectively rollout, manage and maximize revenue returns from Ethernet services."
