HotMovies.com, a U.S. pay-per-view adult-movie Web site, said it is planning a party to celebrate the addition of a 100,000th film to its library.
The proprietors of the Web site said they plan to recognize the milestone Saturday with a Hundred Grand Gala at Transit Nightclub in the Olde City section of Philadelphia.
At midnight, HotMovies. com will add film No. 100,000 -- It's A Secretary's Thing -- to its library.
The party is expected to include appearances by adult film stars Ron Jeremy, Joanna Angel, Gina Lynn, Jenaveve Jolie and Flower Tucci, as well as a performance by the Peek-A-Boo Revue Burlesque Troupe.
The rapid growth of the HotMovies.com movie library is due, in part, to the changing viewing habits of consumers, the Web site said in a statement. Most consumers do not want to buy, rent or watch an entire adult DVD. They prefer to go online from the privacy of their home and watch scenes from the DVDs they enjoy. This is similar to the change in the music CD market where people just want to buy songs and not an entire album. At HotMovies. com, customers pay about 10 cents per minute to watch what they want when they want. Now they can choose from at least 100,000 movies from over 2,000 studios.
