Arel Spotlight(TM) Solution Exceeds Performance Standards for Delivery over DIRECWAY, Optimizes e-Learning Experience for End Users
Arel Communications and Software (NASDAQ: ARLC), a technology leader in universal voice, video and data communications for interactive conferencing, collaboration and training applications, today announced that Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS), the world's leading provider of broadband satellite solutions, has certified Arel's Spotlight conferencing solution to operate over its DIRECWAY(R) broadband satellite service.
This certification means that enterprise customers can leverage Arel's Spotlight conferencing solution as a value-added application for live and on-demand interactive distance learning over the DIRECWAY service.
Ken Cohen, assistant vice president at HNS said, "Our enterprise customers use Arel's network multicast capabilities to manage delivery of video-based training to create a competitive advantage. Better trained employees perform at a higher level and enhance their customers' in-store experience. By successfully completing testing of its Spotlight conferencing product in our certification program, Arel has assured its customers of a high-quality training experience over our DIRECWAY satellite service."
"Businesses today have many challenges, including a global customer base, distributed work force, and geographically remote vendors," said Ben Yishai, president of Arel. "Hughes Network Systems is empowering their customers to communicate and collaborate with employees, partners, and customers through multi-media solutions. Now they will also be able to use the Arel Spotlight conferencing service to learn, exchange ideas and work productively."
Arel Spotlight's full-featured e-learning conferencing solution addresses all aspects of an organization's training needs and challenges. Using Arel Spotlight applications, geographically dispersed users can work together in groups, attend webinars and panel discussions, participate in training courses, and have one-on-one meetings with customers or colleagues, from virtually anywhere using desktop systems, laptops or even handheld wireless devices. With Arel's Spotlight On-Demand(TM), users can learn at their own pace, extending the benefits of live delivery with advanced recordings of live training sessions. These courses can then be distributed to any or all remote sites with Arel's Content Distribution Manager (CDM) Software and Content Distribution Network (CDN). Arel Spotlight reduces training costs and enables real-time interactivity and just-in-time distribution of mission-critical knowledge.
About the Technology
HNS certification was granted to Arel Spotlight using the DIRECWAY broadband satellite service and terminals. This demonstrates that Spotlight meets the most stringent performance criteria when delivered over the DIRECWAY system. Very small aperture terminal (VSAT) is a communications technology that enables reliable two-way transmission of data via satellite using comparatively small antennas. HNS is the leading provider of these small, affordable satellite terminals with well over 50 percent of the worldwide market for VSAT satellite networks and services. With this certification, Arel is now an authorized HNS Technology Partner in its "e-learning for the enterprise" category.
