BRIEF: Winston-Salem Woman Fights Off Sexual Assault in Driveway

Jul. 31--WINSTON-SALEM -- A Winston-Salem woman fought off a man who attempted to sexually assault her in her driveway, police said.

Just after midnight, police responded to the 2400 block of Waughtown St. on an assault call.

The victim said that after she parked her vehicle in her driveway, she was attacked by an unknown man, according to a news release.

The suspect approached her from behind, grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her.

The victim fought off the attacker, who fled north on Reynolds Forest Drive.

The woman sustained only minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to mid 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 210 pounds.

He had blond hair, a mustache and a goatee. He also had sideburns and dark eyes. He was wearing blue jean shorts and no shirt.
