Anyone heading into a salary negotiation would love to know what co-workers are making. Now, thanks to www.glassdoor.com , that knowledge might just be a few clicks away.

The site compiles user-submitted salary data and breaks it down by company and position. There’s just one catch: before you get to look at everyone else’s virtual pay stubs, you’ve got to submit your own salary information.

The site has been a big hit with employees of major technology companies. More than 800 Microsoft employees have posted their salaries, and hundreds more from Yahoo!, Apple, Google and IBM have done the same.

If the salary info isn’t enough, the site also allows posters to leave anonymous reviews. Hundreds of posters extol or bemoan life at their company. Again, the same deal applies. Before you can read others’ reviews, you need to post one yourself.

Glassdoor might not guarantee a raise in your next salary review, but at the very least it’ll help you gauge what you can ask for.

With fewer than 100 days remaining until Election Day, there’s an endless bounty of political information floating around the Internet. But no site will quench your political thirst as well as http://realclearpolitics.com .

The site, known as RCP among political junkies, generates original content and also serves as a massive collection jar for news, opinions and the latest polling. Throughout the day articles from publications ranging from The Nation to the National Review are posted on the site alongside straight reporting from the country’s top political journalists.

On top of all this, the site keeps track of major political blogs and online resources such as The Huffington Post, RedState and politico.com. The final treat: mountains of poll data for the presidential race and key Senate races.

If you can’t read enough about John McCain, Barack Obama and the rest of the crowd, this site should help you get your political fix
