Police Post Video of Pursuit on You Tube

August 6, 2008

USERS of the popular video posting site YouTube can now view police pursuing dangerous drivers through the streets of the West Midlands after the region’s force joined the website.

West Midlands Police have begun posting videos of their operations on the website in a bid to communicate with young people.

The force says it decided to join the site after recognising that young people spend a lot of time on video sharing and social networking sites compared with time spent reading or watching traditional media.

There are currently nine West Midlands Police videos on the site, which are a combination of crime prevention advice, campaign videos and a behind the scenes look at police operations.

The force intends to post new videos on the site every two weeks.
