IDG Communications Hires Executive to Lead Content Syndication Programs

An experienced ad network and licensing executive and member of the hulu.com launch team at NBC Universal, Mike Romoff, has joined as vice president of Syndication for IDG Communications which is based in Framingham, MA. In this new position at IDG Communications, Romoff is responsible for developing and implementing online content syndication partnerships to distribute technology news and information to digital media companies. IDG media include CIO, Computerworld, InfoWorld/TecWorld/TecChannel, Network World, Macworld, and PC World along with the IDG News Service.

Peter Longo, CEO, IDG Syndication and Networks said: “Mike has a strong understanding of content partnerships that will be a major benefit as we grow our syndication business.” Romoff, who returns to IDG following a stint at The Industry Standard magazine from 1999-2001, said “I look forward to helping our media brands to distribute their award-winning editorial and at the same time draw new visitors to their Web sites.”

Romoff held executive positions in sales and ad operations at NBC Universal for two years. He was a key member of the team that organized hulu.com, an entertainment site featuring NBC and Fox programs. Prior to NBC, Romoff served as a director at 360i, an interactive agency, and in a business development role at businessweek.com.

He earned an MBA in media/management from Columbia Business School and a BA in economics from Amherst College.
